I'm thankful for love, harmony, balance and beauty, fragrance, joy and melody... all the things that sustain and delight. Family? Of course!

How can you pick just one thing to be thankful for? There is so much to be grateful for!

My something else is "The world collectively beginning to finally wake up and revolt against the failure of cultural capitalism".

While there is so much to be grateful for, there is no one in particular to thankful to, except, perhaps, the Holy ONE, of which we are an inseparable part.

I am tremendously grateful for being an inseparable part of the Holy ONE.

I marked that I was thankful for my health but I also wanted to note that I am thankful for one of the other choices too, namely, Turkey because that is the country in which is located the famous Mount Ararat where archeologists are said to have found the remains of Noah's Ark and if Noah hadn't been able to make landfall  none of us would be here and the world as we know it would be a very different place (without birds and animals).

I was also surprised that (at least at this point in the survey) that Turkey (at 13%) is appreciated more than twice as much as health (at 6%).

I mean you're not going to be able to tour Turkey if you don't have good health are you?

I marked Something Else.  I am thankful for the beauty of of my small corner in the world and that there is beauty in all corners of the world if people wish to see it.  I love my family.  I appreciate my home, good health and the fine turkey dinner I will have this weekend, but I am most thankful for the sun rising and setting each day over my pond.  I am thankful for life in all its natural, chaotic, glory.

According to Kevin O'Leary, we are all stupid liars and that the only thing one can hope to be thankful for is financial security.  O'Leary basically says that everyone and everthing can be bought.

He does have a point but as a stupid person - which he really is - he has delegated the individual as benevolent tyrant.  In fact, he has simply become his father and has stunted his own personal and psychological growth to about 15 years old, in order to please his father, become his father and yet overcome his father.

How wonderful it is to have an O'Leary who is so rich and so transparent and so idiotic.

This reminds me of an incident back when my family owned a restaurant.  I had a very nice poster hanging on the wall.  A patron asked my server how much I would sell it for.  The server came and asked me (I was in the back doing dishes, oh the joys of small business ownership).  I said it wasn't for sale.  She went out and told the customer.  He sent her back with a generous offer.  I refused again (this was a particularly favourite picture of mine and while I didn't mind sharing it with my customers in my business I had no desire to sell it).  Off goes the server again and back she comes and says

"He says everything has a price.  What is yours".  Up to my armpits in greasy water I said "Yep, tell him he is right.  I want 1.5 million and he can have the wall its hanging on!"

The server went out but this time she didn't come back.

It was funny at the time, really cool

I'm in the tiny group that picked financial security, so let me explain!  At this stage of my life, all the other good things are possible because I have financial security.  I have plenty of time to spend with family and at home, time to spend in church exploring my faith, time and money to spend on a gym membership to advance my health, and I'm able to buy more than one turkey and donate one where needed at Thanksgiving or Christmas time.
