What Can or should the UCC and other Protestants do while the Catholic Church is in Scandal

It is obvious to me that as the scandal in the Catholic Church unfolds, it will have repercussions for all of Christianity.

What are the many possible outcomes of the scandal for the Global Church and which outcomes will affect the UCC and other Protestants?

Should we be having  groups of informed people forming discussions groups to explore this?

Will this scandal also make people afraid of the UCC and other Christians.

The Church gave up credibility for Lent. Holy Thursday, Good Friday are now Cover-Up Thursday and Blame-Others Friday

Complete with crown-of-thorns imagery, the church has started an Easter public relations blitz defending a pope who went along with the perverse culture of protecting molesters and the church’s reputation rather than abused — and sometimes disabled and disadvantaged — children.

The church gave up its credibility for Lent. Holy Thursday and Good Friday are now becoming Cover-Up Thursday and Blame-Others Friday.

Putting down the catechism, it picked up the Washington P.R. handbook for political sins.

The Bishop's Man -- thoughts?

Boxing Day found me reading "The Bishop's Man" by Lyndon MacIntyre, winner of the Giller Prize.

Unlike a mystery, that I didn't wish to put down...the Bishop's Man I found myself forcing myself to take breaks from in order to savour the prose.  Though I wished to read through, find out what had happened in Honduras, discover what would occur with the main characters, I also did not wish to read it too quickly.
