Are you a GLBTT person or ally associated with The United Church of Canada? You are invited to attend a regional gathering to tell your story and voice your thoughts about the attitudes toward homophobia and heterosexism in the United Church today. This consultation has been mandated by the 40th General Council 2009.
I'm looking for recommendations for books about the relationship between LGPT people (preferably lesbians) and Christianity. I'm especially interested in theology and scripture.
Looking through my shelf the other day, I realised that I have lots of queer theory and lots of books about Christianity, but the two never meet.
I'm hoping you all have thoughts and recommendations on this.
well, this whole thing with my potential girlfriend didn't work out. but I guess I want to find a girl who I know is serious about being my girlfriend, since I am pretty sure the only reason I'm holding onto the idea of my BIsexuality is because I like... sex.. with guys.. but anyways, a more accurate description is polysexual.... aaaaanyways I think I will have to wait a little longer to meet my princess :/ because the one I thought was her went with a prince :/
well, I think that the whole "born again heterosexual" thing is a load of bull, unless you were actually gay by choice... oh, and let me clear this argument up. There are people who choose to be gay, for past relationship problems, or wanting to try something new, or for whatever reason and then there are the people who just were born that way, and can't help it. The people who think all gay people made a choice are probably stereotyping because of one or two people.
Last week Washington DC became one of the first places to allow. One of the first places to achieve equal marriage rights without being forced to by the courts. The GLBT press is giving credit to the churches in DC in making it happen.
