Terrorism strikes Canada

Go to google news (in a bar at the top left of the google page. You will find a story from the Montreal Gazette. The Canadian government has opened a web site, warning Canadians about terrorist organizations - some by name, and some just by type of organization. All will be under constant investigation by the Canadian authorities.

One of the generalized categories is....wait for it......

Animal rights groups.

This is what I was worried about.

The sad part is that it was apparent that this is the direction the Tories would move if elected.  And people still voted them in.

We can complain... but we can't stop them.

The Obama Disaster

Under Bush, the President got the power to imprison American citizens without charge or trial. He also got the power to order, with reason, any American citizen in a foreign country. Under Bush, he extended surveillance to include anybody who disagrees with the government - especially including peace groups. Under Bush, the US invaded Iraq and Afghanistan. Under Bush, torture became a legal practice. I think that is the definition of a police state.

Scary Con "Justice" Bill

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/05/20/fingerprints-crime.html

From the story, the law does three things:

1) allow police to fingerprint and photograph someone before they are charged with an offense

2) make it illegal to escape prosecution by skipping across Provincial lines

3) allow police to obtain warrants 24 hours a day.
