Bible and Imagination

have you ever wondered why we have such traits as imagination? Some people have little - need in al in black and white. But there are those of us whose imagination is a tool we use in all parts of our life.

So that brings me to the bible - can we not use imagination as a tool to delve into the bible stories ? .

JK Rowling: Preacher

I just listened to this speech by JK Rowling given to Harvard graduates in 2008 and posted by TED in January, 2010.  My daughter found it somehow.  Her message is as challenging as most any sermon I have heard, and her delivery offers insights into connecting with people today.  Her message frames some questions important to our faith stances on a variety of issues.  I hope any who choose to view it enjoy it at least 1/2 as much as I did.

Symbolic common ground

With a past in one faith and a present in another, I have found common ground.

I do not say my Jewish friends, family, et al that they have "missed the boat" or are destined to one version of hell or another.

Imagining the Trinity

In the thread on The Shack, several people have admitted their fascination/trouble with how the three persons of the Trinity are presented. So here's an imaginative challenge: if you were to represent the Trinity as three characters in a novel, who would it be? and why is this image healing/holy/transformative/salvific?
