I mean like, it's weird, you know?

Right there on p. 1, genesis told the animals to be fruitful and multiply. And, you know, he gives adam a wink and a nudge and talks about his desdendeants so, like, you know, we'll all adults here. we know there's only one way yo can do that. (There's more now. But not then.)

So there's Adam and there's EVe, I  mean all equipped and everything but they don't know what to do. Hey. Give them a break. Remember your first date?

What makes Sacred Scripture sacred anyway?

Coming out of our last discussion on Salvation (thank you everyone who answered!) more questions have arisen. I have read some other writings of other religions - doing a comparing thing. Some I find very beautiful and even inspiring. For example, the Bhagava Geeta. What it says about Krishna I could easily apply to the Cosmic/Resurrected Jesus - no problem. But would that be heretical of me?

Literal Reduction

I came across this article after being inspired to search further by Crazyheart's biblical symbols thread. The author touches on a number of issues - myth in a literary context, symbolic language in an historical context and the loss of the richness of both in our modern context.

Genesis chapters 1-3

So i'm reading the torah, and having a jolly old time about it.

Did anyone notice that God "in the beginning"  speaks as if...well...it is plural?

"And we made them in our image".
