The Fast Food Industry's 7 Most Heinous Concoctions
By Brad Reed
Although the organic movement has certainly started to influence how Americans think about their food, it is still no match for the American fast food industry, which continuously finds creative new ways of piling sugar, salt and fat on a plate and charging customers $4.99 for the privilege of eating it.
Sometimes I can't believe the food that I used to think of as supper back when I was single and childless. Some examples: a bag of microwave popcorn, one or two bowls of cereal, a pie (it was a fruit pie), KD, and my absolute favorite Stove Top stuffing and a can of corn.
Come on now, I know that there are Wondercafers that have eaten or are eating things for supper that wouldn't pass muster being served to your parents. How about it? And if you don't do it anymore, do you miss it?
As I was looking through the flyers and doing my grocery shopping today, it dawned on me that I could buy 6 litres of pop for the less than I could buy 2 litres of milk. (I know the costs of milk vary across the country so that might not be the case where you live).
