The straight question: was Jesus the son of God in terms of Science? Straight answer: No, in my opinion.

In Biblical times the word virgin had nothing to do with sex. At that time virgin meant not married.

Jesus was not the genetic son of God. However Jesus was right to say that he was the son of God. We are all the children of God, just as any adopted child is the son or daughter of their adopted parents.

One of the thorniest topics, even for Christians, I think, has been to come to terms with what the Bible has to say regarding the nature of Jesus Christ.  Jesus refers to himself, not as 'Lord' but as the 'son of Man.'   "For the son of Man is lord of the sabbath."  (Matthew 12:8)  He also refers to himself as the son of God, for example, Mark 14:36 "Abba, Father, all things are possible for you." 

I'm guessing alot of people will be drawn to this thread because the title implies i'm going to argue against the divinity of Jesus. 

And....I'm not.   I strongly disagree with it, and am open to discussion, because I have a lot of ammo on the subject, but I respect you all at the united church and don't want to do that.

What i'm actually here to do is ask a question.
