Some good observations on church marketing efforts from "Church Marketing Sucks."
---------------------------------------
I hesitate to post this for any number of reasons, but I think it might prove useful for both me and others, so here goes. Please read my whole post before answering. Note the bold text near the end. I will call out anyone that I think is going down the wrong road.
WonderCafe church ads were produced by The United Church of Canada's Emerging Spirit program for congregational use.
I know the following post is way too long but one can not accurately convey travelling to the pits of hell in a few short paragraphs.
Someone in this group accurately said of me that I write to distance myself and this is true. I also use humour as a way to deflate the anger.
So I am posting the following because I need to release the anger which is threatening to consume me, but I share with all of you in the hope that it makes you laugh.
Although if there are any marketing gurus out there I hope it makes you think…..

There are no more secrets in the world, because of websites like WonderCafe and other social networking services that encourage more and more people to write and share articles, tweets and texts and photos. These basic social media tools have made the internet a very fertile landscape for both positive and negative ideas, and these transmittable notions can really affect a business's bottom line.
I have a theory that goes like this - when times are bad, people look for alternatives, and these days those people look online. What do they see? Coupons for savings and contests that offer hope.
