Do you equate Intelligent Design with Creationism?

Hello All,

I watched Ben Stein's documentary "Expelled" recently.  It was a little over the top (a lot over the top some would say), but still introduced some interesting questions.

Scents, sounds of creation

Tonight, I realized that the catalpa tree in our side yard is just about finished for the season.

When it is full bloom it has a heavy nutmeg-like  scent which fills the house if the wind blows gently.

It tells me that strawberries are ripe for picking.  It reminds me of times sitting under it with friends.

All of this through the scent of the blossom, which lasts for the length of time that strawberries are ready for local harvest.

Creation is amazing.

From Whence Does Evil Come?????

In the first account of creation we are told that the heavens and the earth all come from God.  We are also told that all which was created was seen as being good, even very good.

So where did evil come from?

Was evil there before teh "beginning of the beginning"?  Was evil part of the "us" the story mentions when humanity are created (men and women at the same time in this story)?  Is evil in fact part of God?  OR part of the creattion that is called good?

Creator God - Does a creator control?

create: cause to be, originate, produce, invent

creation: the act of creating, anything created

creator: a person who creates, The Creator - God.

creature: anything created, a person who is completely under the influence of another ( Dictionary of Canadian English)

So, does a Creator Control?

Two people create a third but as that child grows even though the two people can show, teach, and offer suggestions, the third person is not under their control.

Science and God

I notice the tendency for people (both Christain and secular) to discuss God and science as though the two are mutually exclusive. Science, which is a product of flawed human intelligence (flawed in the sense that no human has ever been shown to be infallible), is quoted time and time again as being able to prove the non-existence of God, or at least the non-existence of the God as set out in the Biblical record.
