“Don’t worry. It always works out in performance.” Nope. Even as a child I knew that wasn’t true when a well-meaning adult would pat me on the head and offer up those comforting words. What I have learned through the passage of time is how to deal with situations that come up that are unexpected. It can be distilled into 2 rules. 1) Always be prepared. Know your music inside out so when Murphy’s Law pulls you over, you can deal with it.

The altos got kicked out of the pub last year and all Sani is banned so Myst said she can't sing without it.
The angels lost their halos when they were flying through the air and so this year they couldn't be persuaded to swing without them - especially Beloved . She was a real swinger.
Some churches, in the summer time have no children, no choir, no coffee time and no young families and no meetings.
