One Church (Mennonite)denomination in the USA decided to agree by the Americans with Disabilty Act, even through churches were exempt. They have had much success in doing so. So much so that this Mennonite Church is condsidered to be the Gold standard to which measure other churches on access to the disabled
Do you think it would be a Good idea to lobby United Churches and organisations in Ontario to abide by the Accessibilty for Ontarians Act? If so how would that be done?
This is the revised home page of Accessible Church. I have change the tone, after several people pointed out how certain things seemed to them, and how I could say the same things in a less angry sounding tone, I have either revised or removed those sections or pages.
I have problems with memory and organization. it is worse then most people.this is due to neurological disability call PDD-NOS, and having had HIV related encephalitis many years ago.
Hi everyone. Long time. I have had to process a lot of the changes that are happening to me since joining wondercafe, and then finally rejoining a church. One of the things I promised myself when I joined the church was to change myself, but also to contribute to healing in the church. Martin Luther King was right when he said Sunday morning was the time when we ae most segregated. This is still true, but also includes segregation not just by race, but also in other ways, like ability, disability and economic status.

My viral load has been undetectable for 10 years now, and my health is better than it's been for 20 years. Why do I live while others die? The answer is simply because I get the care I need and needed to survive.
Check out this video. It's about a church the Salation Army has opened in Hamilton to attract people under 35.
Looks like a good idea to me.

I was a member of Aylmer United Church until 1988. I left because my congregation I felt I had no choice as I say it, Aylmer United voted to exclude Gay and Lesbian men from membership. I was the only gay member of the board and after being angrily denounced by others and sitting through church meetings where I was told how evil I was, 60% of the congregation agreed and voted to exclude me and all other GLBT people from their church.
