genties & ladlemen,

my mother has been given 3 to 12 months to live; her cancer has progressed to that point.  she says she is ready to go, has everything set up, but, of course, i can tell she doesn't want to go.  thank g_odness she lives in a place and time where she gets to choose -- she's tried various chemo (but not all of them) and, I think, is choosing quality of life over quantity

i ask for blessings for her from those who can and healing for her from those who can, sendings of positive energy and good wishes her way

My mother's health is rapidly deteriorating again.  On Dec 29/07 she had emergency brain surgery for an agressive kind of brain cancer.  She recovered fantastically but was given 7-17 months to live.  It was 17 months in May.  I am grateful for the time that we were given with her but now her mental state is about what it was when she had her surgery.  I really don't think that she has much time left. 

this is an exerpt from a letter to the editor in MacLean's magazine - may 4th.

My family is lucky enough to own a RV and rent a seasonal site on a lake near my city.  We practically lived out there this summer and over that time I think I saw more examples of bad parenting then I have in my whole life combined.  It's bad enough that my friend (17 year old daughter of our RV neighbous) fights all the time with her stepmom, but on top of that her little 8 year old brother is a night mare.  And I mean really a nightmare (I have known many a little boy in my life and none have ever been as bad as him.
