There have been armed conflict forever where countries and people fight each other for noble reasons - to protect country and families or because of political or religious reasons. I'm not saying this is right but this is what happens.
But there are always the factions who do not want killing to end. They are sadistic and haven't even got a justifiable cause to attribute the killing to..
What does God have to say about this?
We yearn for peace in the world but how?
Is God showing us a way?
I thought I'd share this little archaeological tidbit with you. I thought the most interesting point they make is that the more open and accepting of people you are (in this case, not afraid they'll infect you), the more peaceful the society becomes. Let me know what you think.
Lest We Forget to Remember
How can we remember?
That long time ago
decades before our birth
We only see the grainy, greyed images
of soldiers marching, fighting, dying
and walking skeletons
of POW's and the Final Solution
A mushroom cloud
shocking the world into uneasy peace
But it has not ended
Ongoing battles erupt on our streets
Violence confronts us
CNN live minute by minute
So we mute the sound
detach from the images
tune out the pain
Last night, my oldest son & I went to see Passchandaele.
I recommend it, though I will warn re sex, violence & language...the typical things.
I find it funny, we warn about sex regardless of the type of sex, even though it is the most natural of our actions as humans, and something we hope our grown children find in a solid relationship
This is a bit tangled, so bear with me.
British and French commanders in the field as well as diplomats and intelligence experts have long concluded that the war in Afghanistan cannot be won, that the government we have propped up cannot be sustained, and that the Taliban must be invited back into the tent. And all of that should have been obvious when this started.
There are a hundred Canadian dead in Afghanistan. Nobody gives enough of a damn to count the number of dead Afghanis.
