Children who don't sleep

I thought I would start this thread for parents who have had children with non-traditional sleep patterns, or who have them with non-traditional.

I am the Mom of a 17yr old, and we learned the hard way how to keep him safe.

I am also someone who has non-traditional sleep patterns...so am likely more tolerant of it.

Daughters Hearing Loss

So for a while now I've been wondering if there was something going on with my 3 yr old daughters hearing.  But in the winter/early spring, she had a few colds and so I thought maybe her ears were a bit plugged. But over the last few weeks, its been noticeable.  And way beyond a three year old loving to say the word What? What? What?  She's now coming closer or leaning in to hear me and says Pardon Me (or What) about a hundred times.

Sad News: BusyMom's Dad

Friends

It is with sad news that I share with you that BusyMom's Dad passed this morning.

She and the family were with him, and as she has indicated to me, it was a holy moment.

Many of the wondercafe community have walked with Busymom on-line, as her father rallied time & again from the stroke, and shared the ways they were communicating.  We have been blessed by her offering of her life stories to us.

Please keep the Busygang in your thoughts and prayers.

Queer Parents

Hello! Just thought I'd make a wee space on the cafe to get a latte and chat with other rainbow parents who are striving to bring up healthy happy kids in a world that may or may not embrace their family.. Come on, pull up a chair...

living with hypochondriacs and depressants

does anyone have guidance on survival skills for living with hychondriacs / depressants -- especially as they age?

Picture a situation where an mention of the "C" word has a person on their death bed, and their partner  planning their funerals.  where if someone has xyz it has to be a severe xyz, and you hear great details about it.  That in some ways, it is better to have a severe xyz, cause if it was minor then they would have been making details.

Teen Mom In Need Of Advice

I am 15 years old currently living with my mother. I am 3 1/2 months pregnant, and things have been going okay. I was just wondering if anyone can give me advice. My mom doesn't know and I am afraid to tell her, because of what her reaction might be. My dad knows but he doesn't live near me. I am going to live with him in June. The baby isn't due until around July or August, so I haven't bothered to tell my mom. Why would I? I won't even be here. I am getting upset though that I have not told my mom because she keeps talking about how good I have been, and we are close.
