The shale gas issue is getting very, very hot down here. The government, bought and paid for by the Irving government and by other big money, is determined to ram through more shale gas exploration - no matter what public opinion might be. And the collusion of the irving newspapers (which is all of them) is obvious and lying and malicious.
I would not be surprised at violence - perhaps incited by the billionaires. Certainly, we know that the RCMP is spying on environmentalists, and is giving bienniel reports on them to the council of canadian CEOs.
Where else would you see this? lol Maybe in some states as well.

This article from The Register is amusing. It describes how UK security folks have had to plan for what to do if Kate makes a run for it tomorrow.

Having to do this kind of detailed planning for highly improbable one-off events is why I don't work in security. Although, come to think of it, we do some of this in IT as well when we do disaster recovery planning.

**This is a post I pulled off my old blog**
Every Remembrance Day we stand at the cenotaph and honour the men and women who fought and died overseas to keep the people of this nation free. But we are not free, not really. I submit to you now that there are strange and rather dark forces at work in Ottawa. Nevermind 911, Iraq and all of the American subterfuge, we have our own conspiracies right here in Canada.
So on Good Friday evening at 4 am there was a knocking on my door. I am not really polite at this time of morning so I opened up the window and said "get off my property or I will call the cops" The answer came back "We are the cops ma'm and we need to talk to you"
