My kids are now 4 and 7 and I know that my youngest is still too young for the big talk but what about my oldest?
I want to protect him and let him have a long childhood but with drug useage starting in Grade 5 and children being sexually active with eachother at the tender age of 12 how do I do this?
Do I start with "If your Grade Five buddy offers you candy off of a sheet of paper..........." or "Always ask your Daddy or I if it is okay to eat somthing even if given to you by a freind because......"
This issue has arisen again with a child of a friend. Drug use in the parents home.
how do you handle it?
Is it a big deal?
Do you kick out kids? Ground them? ignore it?
The situation is complicated by the fact that another child committed suicide a few months back while using drugs. It then becomes a parents worst nightmare.
When it comes to the conversation of drugs being bad or good, I'm an advocate for drugs being good. Greetings, my name is Kim Beaulieu and this is my blog about my battles with addiction.
I have been an alcoholic my entire life I believe.
From my first drink I started blacking out, waking up not remembering going to bed at first, then larger gaps started to occur, such as an entire evening. I was 14.
Greetings!
Quite a few months back I posted a topic starter about being prescribed cholesterol lowering medication and my feelings about not wanting to take it. My doctor prescribed Crestor as my attempts at controlling it with diet were getting me nowhere. My cholesterol was very high (8.4ish) at the time. I started taking the medication, did experience muscle pain at first, but started taking Coenzyme Q10 which I believe made a difference.
