As part of another thread, questions were posed, and presumptions were shared, that got me thinking to evangelicsm.
I am not someone who preaches about my faith, or invites people to church. If I meet someone who is a Hindu, Moslem, then I am interested in understanding about their faith. I ask questions to learn.
How many of you have heard of Lumby, British Columbia. Few, I am sure. We are a small village of about 1800 people on highway 6, just south of Vernon in the North Okanagan. Close you Cherryville? Whitevale? Does that help?
This past week a ministry colleague of mine emailed that she had been told by some people in her congregation that there was "too much prayer" in the service, and they thought she was using prayer as a cover for being "unprepared" for worship.
So many people claim to "love Jesus" but the hate the church. I think this a wrong view for three reasons:

Luke in the 27th verse of the 14th chapter of his gospel records Jesus as saying. "anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple."
Recognizing that participation in the WonderCafe is not limited to those who are attempting to be disciples of Christ I still wonder how the above verse might apply to our virtual community.
In the context of the passage Jesus is commenting upon readiness and preparedness in undertaking certain ventures be they building towers or defending against approaching armies.
