Talking about spiritual attainment is hard because we lack a proper of definition of the word "spiritual".
Nowadays a lot of practices are put under the umbrella of spirituality ranging from self deprivation to taking drugs.
However in this short post we should hope to clear the word "attainment".
As human beings and we are always operating on faith since we never know what the future has in store for us.
When we pressed the elevator button we wait because we have faith it will come. Based on this statement we should make a distinction between three kinds of faith: below reason, within reason and above reason.
The usual connotation of the word refers to the first kind of faith: below reason, meaning that we’ve been told something and we believe it without verifying it. This is the religious approach to faith.

I have been allowing junk take over my space. It's about time that I face the hurt and throw it out. Start new, maybe renewal??
PNEUMATOLOGY--A NEW SCIENCE FOR THIS NEW CENTURY
Pneumatology. It is not a science yet, but it is the mother of psychology--the study of the psyche (the Greek for animal-like mind)--which, for centuries was considered a branch of philosophy. This was true in 1947 when I decided to focus on, or major in, psychology. Dr. Clayton Baxter--the professor who took me under his wing ( became a respected friend), was a PhD from the Unversity of Toronto--was head if the Department of Philosophy.
Although we can’t prove there is or isn't a god, here are some things we do know from direct observation:
This is my attempt to respond to Pilgrims' Progress' request for an essay (she's an Aussie teacher, eh?) on how my health issue has altered my "perception on life." (I hope I pass)
This is, of course, a personal reflection. I offer it FWIW.
CNN reports a growing trend in 'religious migration' among Americans. Drawing on a poll by the Pew Forum on Religion Public Life, it is reported that up to half of all American adults have changed religion at least once in their lives. “'The reasons people change religions are as diverse as the religious landscape itself,' . . .Some factors that might be expected to drive people away from religion -- such as sex abuse scandals in the Catholic Church, or a belief that science "disproves" religion -- actually play a very small role, the study suggests.”
One important caveat when reading this story – when CNN says 'religion,' it (mostly) means Christian denomination. There's not a lot of mention of conversion between Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. Rather most of the change the article discusses is between Catholicism and Protestantism, or between different Protestant denominations.
Take a look at the article here.
As part of another thread, questions were posed, and presumptions were shared, that got me thinking to evangelicsm.
I am not someone who preaches about my faith, or invites people to church. If I meet someone who is a Hindu, Moslem, then I am interested in understanding about their faith. I ask questions to learn.
I've been thinking about something recently. Does Christianity make people conservative? Sometimes it seems like christian and conservative are so intertwined that they mean the same thing. Is it an unnatural relationship? If it's not christianity that does it; where do conservatives come from? Is it different churches that are at fault? Old people vs young? Lots of people from my generation want nothing to do with christianity because the association is so strong.
