On the news today, there was a report of a WalMart employee in Long Island who was trampled to death when a crowd of shoppers broke down the doors of the store, at 5 a.m. and surged in. A pregnant woman, and two other people were also injured in the stampede.
These were probably ordinary people, out early on "Black Friday", the day after Thanksgiving in the US, when stores offer huge bargains on Christmas shopping. Essentially it's the equivalent of our Boxing Day.
Hello everyone God bless you..........
Under the influence of the Holy Spirit today I would like to share with you the Seven Spirits of God.....God as our example leads us to follow these in our daily lives....researching and seeking the word.....praying and communing with God are ways that we can conform to these very precious Spirits............
1......The Spirit of the Lord.....is the supernatural source that creates Gods thoughts in our hearts...
Have a heart folks, in the space of the mind is it devoid of thought, like a rapturous empiric (solipsism, experience). If a person projects a moving experience to the people about ... will they get angry as if abstract truth was expressed? Is that moving emotional? Hard people hate such things and the though of letting go even when caressing but not quite getting a grasp of an infinite perception ... an abstract wisdom in a mortal field.
This is the seventh sermon in a series on the seven deadly sins. It was delivered by John Griffith, a guest speaker. Why are we discussing sin? Because we have lost the meaning of the word. In the original language it meant - missing the mark. I set a goal, I don't make it. I want to be a certain way, but I do something else. In terms of human nature, The writer Paul said something like, The person I want to be, I am not, and the person I don't want to be I see in the mirror in the morning.
Hello. I would like to know what you think about the following topics. Is there a difference between religion and spirituality? If so, what's the difference? What does religion have that spirituality doesn't? What does spirituality have that religion doesn't? Any takers?
Hi, I am new and it's kinda weird since I am an unbeliever on a church website... And this is what I think of every religion, sect or culte. I think most of them (even Christianity) were made because humans wanted to have a reason for their life. I think that in their comfusion of their goal they created a bunch of theories. Some got more popular than others. When you think about it.
I know there must have been a post similar to this somewhere but as i'm not inclined to check through more than 10 pages for answers, i'll ask this question for my own.
I do firmly believe that there is a god, i'm just open minded about it. A question that has been popping into my mind recently is that if there is a god, and he is kind, and gentle, and great, and everything we belive him to be, why are there people who suffer so much?
Having immersed myself in the literature of emerging, I now feel better about my place in the Christian Church, specificially the United Church. Although I grew up with the traditional beliefs, I gradually realized, now at the age of 63 that I choose not to believe in the supernatural aspects of our "faith" - that Jesus was the "son of God" who, after his crucifixion, rose from the dead, appeared to the faithful and ascended into heaven..etc.
