Welcome to the dynamic faith community at Dunbar Heights.
Here's the situation...
My Yobo, her 21 year old niece, her 19 year old son, and I are going camping this weekend near Kingston, Ontario.
Four people going camping together.
We have two tents.
Each tent sleeps a maximum of two people.
4 people / 2 tents = 2 people / tent.
The question is: Who should sleep together?
Friends
It is with sad news that I share with you that BusyMom's Dad passed this morning.
She and the family were with him, and as she has indicated to me, it was a holy moment.
Many of the wondercafe community have walked with Busymom on-line, as her father rallied time & again from the stroke, and shared the ways they were communicating. We have been blessed by her offering of her life stories to us.
Please keep the Busygang in your thoughts and prayers.
I was at a workshop last night for "Appreciative Inquiry".
It was pretty good, but as part of it the dialogue on forgiveness came up.
One statement was that forgiveness does not equal reconciliation.
How do you define forgiveness?
If you forgive someone, is it necessary to let the person you forgive know, or is forgiveness something that is totally inward.
For the longest time I was finding it hard to have anything in common with my own age group. Here I am, a 21 single girl, I don't drink, I don't smoke, I take care of my mind, body & soul, and I have this amazing friendship with God. I want to learn so much & experience so much, that sometimes I feel like I isolate myself because I am not following the normal life of a 21 yr old. Until I found this website, I was at a loss for relating with other people about spirituality, keeping my prayers to myself.
I was listening to the radio on the way home from work today and they had some focus on the family or some such woman going on and on about broken families. Not single parent families but "broken" families with much emphasis. She was saying how much broken families cost tax payers and a broken family is more likely to live in poverty.
I wanted to start a thread on the current situation regarding the Influenza outbreak in Mexico.
I am concerned about a recent CNN report that stated that the virus was shown to have DNA from the Swine, Human, and Avian Influenza viruses. I am concerned that we may experience another pandemic and that our governments are not giving us enough information and the information we are getting is "toned down" for our benefit.
On another blog I was a contributor to, one writer, The de-Convert, posted some troubling examples of what Jesus thinks about family values.
