According to some physicists, we are in G.Õ.D. and G.Õ.D. is in us. To explore this idea, check out the work of Neil Turok, who wrote the book THE UNIVERSE WITH--From Quantum to Cosmos. Here are some of the detail you will need to participate, OK?

I'm looking at taking a service at my UU fellowship in the next couple months. It will be another "Four Elements" topic and I find myself leaning towards Fire. Earth should be next but Fire is calling out to me. It's the most energetic and exciting of the bunch with a very rich set of myths and images to explore. You might say I'm burning with the desire to do this topic.
People have tossed around the idea of a wondercafe conference or gathering.
I am posting this thread to allow us to weave in & out of the idea
Some of the things that come to my mind are:
a) what is unique about wondercafe and contributors that would be interesting to others
b) what would the conference look like? would it have lanes similair to the discussion topics
c) what location would make sense
d) funding / costs / challenges
I just had a note from a friend in Montreal. Today, He spoke at the funeral of a woman who had been close to his family, quite a remarkably woman who, at 18 was fighting with the Yugoslav resistance against the Naziis. She was Jewish.
The rabbi who conducted the service was a woman.
And lesbian.
Take that, all you fancy pants UCers who think your church is so liberal.
In Darrel's thread on "Demonic" religion, Steven Davis posted the following:
[quote=Rev. Steven Davis]
I wish.....
that I believed in a God that could cause miracles to occur in spontaneous healing
that I believed in a God that could reverse the clock
that I believed that the power of prayer would magically cause God to intervene in awful situations
but I don't
I own that chaos occurs in this world
that shit happens to people and it shouldn't
but, oh, how i wish
PSYCHOLOGY--THE OFFSPRING OF THEOLOGY AND PNEUMATOLOGY
The following is a collection of thoughts and ideas. Many of them are not original with me. I got them from several sources.
We have people visit the cafe, after receiving a sudden shock having lost someone or something.
Whether it be a life taken unexpectedly or someone facing a serious illness....a job lost or a relationship broken,....we often walk together in this stages.
Yet, we aren't always here, nor do people always wish to communicate.
This was a question on CNN this morning. "What would Jesus cut if he were in charge of the US budget?" A minister argues that "budgets" are moral issues and as people of faith , it is our opportunity to do the moral thing. Look after the "least of these" and stop pandering to the wealthy.
What do you think? Should polititions exercise their moral stance rather than their political stance. Should they both be the same thing?
