What can we learn from Modern Science

1. Science is very successful, and proof about this is all around us. The progress of modern science in the past decades it’s been astounding and part of this progress is the world wide network of communication (built with the help of science itself) helping in sharing ideas and theories within the worldwide scientific community.

About spiritual attainment

Talking about spiritual attainment is hard because we lack a proper of definition of the word "spiritual".

Nowadays a lot of practices are put under the umbrella of spirituality ranging from self deprivation to taking drugs.

However in this short post we should hope to clear the word "attainment".

About faith

As human beings and we are always operating on faith since we never know what the future has in store for us.

When we pressed the elevator button we wait because we have faith it will come. Based on this statement we should make a distinction between three kinds of faith: below reason, within reason and above reason.

The usual connotation of the word refers to the first kind of faith: below reason, meaning that we’ve been told something and we believe it without verifying it. This is the religious approach to faith.

Becoming Human. Link to an excellent resource

Hi folks. I came across this resource while searching for resources for home schooling science. I highly recommend it to those whishing to get some good, solid information on homonid evolution, in plain language.  The documentary is great, and the additional explorations are also very valuable.

"Becoming Human is an interactive documentary experience that tells the story of our origins. Journey through four million years of human evolution with your guide, Donald Johanson."

Nice call, Harper.  Great choice.  Freaking morons.  Any other insults necessary to fill out 10 words.

Homosexuality and Science

I am realtively new here, and do not want to post if this topic already exists somewhere else.  I tired to find it but could not.  I could see allusions to it all over the place, but not specifically on the topic I have in mind.  I also had no idea what forum to actually put it under.  I chose Religion and Faith, cause it seems closest to philosophy and science, which is probably where this should go.

A new vision: Living Faithfully in the Modern world

Yesterday NASA launched a rocket powered probe to search for Earth like planets.

How can religion hope to keep up with the endless curiosity of the human race?

Well, I don't have the answers, just my own opinions, and beliefs.

Here are some questions and answers regarding my view.

Who created the universe, and how long did it take?

a) God six days

b) God, we don't know

c) The Big Bang, it still isn't done

I choose to ignore those options and create one of my own.
